Uses for ESSER III Funds
The Homer Community School District is using ESSER III funds for the following purposes.
Addressing learning loss among students, including low-income students, children with disabilities. English learners, racial and ethnic minorities, students experiencing homelessness, and children and youth in foster care, of the local educational agency, including by implementing two curriculums that meet Nebraska Department of Education criteria for alignment with Nebraska Standards, and are High Quality Instructional Materials. The K - 6 curriculum is Great Minds Eureka. The 7 - 12 curriculum is McGraw-Hill Reveal Math. Parental input has been sought through the district website.
Inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrade projects to improve the indoor air quality in school facilities, including mechanical and non-mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, filtering, purification and other air cleaning, fans, control systems, and window and door repair and replacement. The district is replacing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in the gymnasiums and classrooms by installing systems with current filtering and purification systems that reduce the likelihood of transmission of COVID 19, other COVID variants, and other communicable diseases and viruses.
